Overview:
The Designer, Architecture at Arete Design Studio (ADS) collaborates with ADS Principal and staff to develop functional, innovative design solutions that address client needs. The Designer will coordinate design through the construction document phase of the project.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborates with ADS principal, staff, and clients to develop design concepts for retail, commercial, multifamily, and industrial projects.
- Collaborates with ADS principal, staff, and clients to conceptualize land planning developments.
- Develops 3D visualizations, renderings, and presentations for client meetings, municipality approvals, and other purposes, as necessary.
- Coordinates with ADS to convey project design through construction document phase.
- Reconciles ADS priorities and client goals to develop and deliver projects that meet client expectations, generate profit, and contribute to strategic vision of ADS.
- May mentor ADS's junior staff to call forth creativity and excellence in a way that delivers on client expectations and facilitates staff growth.
Skills and Abilities
- 5+ years of progressively responsible project experience, particularly in commercial and/or industrial sectors.
- A bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in architecture.
- Proficiency using 2D/3D design platforms, including AutoCad, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and In-Design), 3D Studio, and SketchUp.
- Experience developing renderings and visual materials to support business development meetings, client meetings, entitlement approvals, and construction permit approvals.
- Experience developing and visualizing concepts for retail, commercial, multifamily, and land planning developments.
- Outstanding attention to detail, with an ability to produce detailed, high quality projects in an allocated number of hours.
- Strong communication skills, with an ability to build productive working relationships with clients, staff, consultants, and vendors.
- Solid work ethic, personal integrity, and high professional standards, including an appreciation for maintaining confidential information.
Travel Requirements:
Domestic and international travel may be required, depending on project location.
